When the news breaks about another road accident, it often feels like a stranger’s tragedy — until it happens to someone close. A father knocked off his motorbike. An elderly pedestrian caught at the wrong crossing. A family shaken after a late-night crash.
Singapore’s roads are safer than many places, but the numbers remain sobering. In 2024 alone, there were 7,049 traffic accidents with injuries and 139 fatal accidents, leading to 142 lives lost. The first half of 2025 already saw 3,818 accidents with 4,939 people injured or killed. Motorcyclists remain the most vulnerable, making up over half of fatalities despite being a minority of road users (CNA / Singapore Police 2025).
These statistics remind us that every journey carries risk — and every driver or rider should equip themselves both with caution and with prayer.
The Dua for Vehicles and Safe Travel
Islam teaches us to remember Allah when embarking on a journey. This short du’a, taught by Rasulullah ﷺ, is a shield for anyone who starts a drive or ride:

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ
Transliteration:
Subhana alladhi sakhkhara lana hadha wama kunna lahu muqrineen, wa inna ila rabbina lamunqaliboon.
English:
“Glory be to Him who has subjected this (vehicle) to us, and we could not have done it by ourselves. Surely, to our Lord we shall return.”
This du’a isn’t a guarantee against harm — rather, it is a reminder of humility, protection, and ultimate return to Allah.
When Accidents Still Happen
Even with prayers and precautions, accidents still occur. And when they do, the aftermath can feel overwhelming:
- Medical costs that drain savings.
- Loss of income if the injured can’t return to work.
- Long-term care or rehabilitation that stretches families thin.
- Legal confusion about compensation and insurance claims.
In Singapore, victims and families have the right to pursue fair compensation under the Motor Vehicles (Third-Party Risks and Compensation) Act and related laws. But navigating this system without expert help can lead to undervalued claims or unnecessary delays.
Why a Specialist Lawyer Matters
A skilled accident lawyer ensures that victims are not short-changed. They fight for:
- Full coverage of hospital and rehabilitation costs.
- Lost wages and potential future income.
- Compensation for pain and suffering, not just medical bills.
- Protecting families from lowball settlements.
The law is meant to deliver justice, but in practice, it often takes an advocate to secure it. That is where [Lawyer Name], a specialist in accident and personal injury law, makes the difference. With many years of experience and a proven record of securing successful compensation for clients, [Lawyer Name] has built a reputation for standing firm against insurers and delivering fair settlements.
Take one case: a motorcyclist who suffered multiple fractures was initially offered a modest payout that barely covered his medical bills. With [Lawyer Name] representing him, the compensation grew to include long-term physiotherapy costs, loss of income during recovery, and damages for future mobility issues. Instead of walking away with a token sum, the client received a settlement that truly reflected the hardship endured.
Families who might otherwise feel powerless find confidence it.
